Purpose of the role:
The Workers` Educational Association is a unique charity and the UK`s largest voluntary sector provider of adult education. In the North-east of Scotland, we are looking for an experienced Education Co-ordinator to support delivery of our current ESOL offer as well as facilitating the delivery of new and exciting projects.

You will liaise with partners and key stakeholders to continue a high standard of ESOL delivery across the Northeast of Scotland, seeking out opportunities to increase and expand our provision to reach those who need it most.

As part of the wider team at WEA, you will work alongside colleagues locally and nationally, to contribute towards the ongoing development of our online and in person delivery.

This role is fixed term to 31 July 2023 in the first instance.

Key areas of responsibility:
You will be responsible for:

- The daily planning, coordination and facilitation of ESOL classes.
- Managing a bank of ESOL tutors - supporting as necessary and performance management.
- Liaising with partners regarding ongoing programs and developing new programs.
- Monitoring and evaluation of ESOL delivery for reporting purposes.
- Producing detailed end of month/ project reporting as required.
- Marketing of ESOL delivery and supporting learners to engage in our classes.
- Reporting directly to the Area Education Manager for the Northeast of Scotland.
- Taking part in and contributing to wider WEA activities to contribute to the WEA`s development in a national context.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

You must be:

- Passionate about lifelong learning, adult education and the WEA’s values.
- An excellent communicator both in verbal and written form.
- Highly organised and methodical in managing your workload.
- Able to manage competing priorities.
- Able to work independently and manage responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL:

- A qualification in ESOL and/or Education or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a coordination or management role.
- Experience of managing stakeholder relationships.
- Experience/ evidence of successful partnership working.
- Confidence and competence in all basic Office packages for daily administration.

DESIRABLE:

- Experience of detailed project reporting.
- Experience of tutoring or delivering ESOL directly.
- Experience of working in third sector contexts and managing competing priorities.
- Experience of and/or knowledge of community-based adult learning principles and the adult learning landscape in the Northeast.
