Purpose of the role:
Reporting to the Area Education Manager, you will be responsible for the coordination, management and development of the ESFA contract`s education provision across Hull and East Riding. The post holder is expected to live in the area, with regular travel around community venues.

You will have responsibility for developing local partnerships as part of our learner recruitment strategy, with a focus on community based partnerships to ensure we are reaching the hardest to reach individuals, to effectively engage them in learning. You will also identifying potential business development opportunities in the area to align with regional objectives.

You will lead the education programme, design and develop processes that ensure provision is aligned local demands, funding outcomes and evidence based framework, in order to maximize impact.

Key areas of responsibility:
You will be responsible for developing, delivering and maintaining a key educational programme in the area, ensuring that through effective stakeholder engagement learners are recruited onto programmes and have an outstanding experience.

At the heart of a closely-knit area team, you will support and manage tutors, engage volunteers and local branches, and identify business development opportunities ensuring provision is aligned to funding outcomes and an evidence based framework. In doing so you will maximize the impact of the adult education in your area whilst promoting WEA as the education provider of choice.

About you:
You will need to be a qualified teacher plus hold assessor qualifications, alongside extensive experience of developing tutors, co-ordinating diverse stakeholders and building voluntary or membership organisations.

Equally importantly, you should be exceptionally organised and methodical, with great leadership and coaching skills and you will be ready to make your mark from day one.

You will have considerable experience of managing and developing tutors to achieve quality outcomes for students and the ability to support, mentor and coach employees to reach their full growth potential.

You will be comfortable using IT systems including Microsoft 365 packages, ideally, you will have experience of creating online programs as you will be required to use Canvas for creation and running of courses.

You will be keen to engage with disadvantaged people within the area and rekindle their love of learning. You will need to have demonstrable knowledge of the social and economic needs in the area and ability to regularly attend partner venues and community hubs.
Due to the nature of the role, driving and access to a vehicle is advantageous.
