Purpose of the role:
WEA Scotland are looking for a dynamic, resourceful Adult Community Education worker to support and further develop our adult education offer in Fife.

The Education Coordinator will engage with stakeholders, partners and learners across Fife in order to build upon our existing adult learning offer. Opportunities for learning created will fall under:

- Health and Wellbeing;
- Culture, Heritage and Environmental;
- Employability.

The coordinator will work to empower individuals, families and communities and help them to identify their individual and collective goals and make opportunities available to them to take part in learning and take action to bring about positive change.

The coordinator will look to:
- Improve life chances for people of all ages through learning, personal development and active citizenship.
- Create stronger, more resilient and inclusive communities.

This exciting role has considerable scope and autonomy and the postholder will be expected to initiate and establish new learning opportunities tailored to meet the current and future needs of adult learners in Fife. Knowledge of organising and delivering online and blended learning would be advantageous but the focus of this role, post-COVID, will be to encourage learners and communities to actively get involved and participate in face to face WEA groups and learning opportunities.

The successful candidate will prioritise building and developing new grass-roots connections in central Fife and in particular in SIMD areas.

Key areas of responsibility:
WEA have an exciting opportunity for an Education Coordinator supporting our work in Fife. The Education Coordinator will engage with new and existing partners and organisations in Fife and organise and develop adult community education courses.

The emphasis will be to connect with new learners in SIMD areas and organise learning opportunities that will make a real difference to learners and their communities.

About you:
You will be an experienced Adult Community Education worker with a sound knowledge and understanding of the socio-economic needs of Fife communities and how to help organise learning opportunities within these communities. You will be living in Fife or the surrounding area and have your own car and a driving license.

You will have strong IT skills and have experience of online learning as well as face to face.
